Ex Nihilo friends,
Wanting more coaching before our tournament? The Welds have opened their home today from 11-1, see details on Slack.
We will have club meeting this Monday, January 2nd. No club Jan 9th (break after hosting the tournament!). Our evening schedule this week will be slightly altered, as we’ll be opening with guest speaker, Caryl Lipnick. Caryl is the founder of Passion for the Arts, is a long-time drama coach, theater director, and homeschooling advocate, and will be available for us for one-on-one speech coaching. Apologetics will have its own room for coaching during regular speech time.
Point Loma Classic update! Just one week until our tournament begins! The PLC is one of the oldest and largest tournaments within the nation-wide Stoa league, and we are so thankful to be able to host it here again this year. If you are not yet connected with a volunteer team to help next week, please email PLC@nihilo.club and we will help schedule you. If you’re not yet signed up to volunteer, it’s not too late and we could really use the additional hands and extra judging.
Students not competing at PLC: we encourage you to come out and see the tournament! Bring a friend who might be interested in learning more about speech and debate, and come and see the various events available. It really is a lovely tournament, with some of the top Stoa speakers and debaters competing for qualifying points towards the national, invitational championship tournament in May.

The more judges we have at PLC, the better the tournament– it’s not too late to invite! Judge Invitation Letter PDF
