For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
II Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
Covid-19 has captured the attention of the media and the public. The response has ranged the spectrum to include panic, hysteria and hoarding. I was sitting with the superintendent of Cajon Valley School district this week, when he said that they would likely have to close schools due to lack of resources, such as bathroom supplies.
As followers of Jesus, our response must be strikingly different than those, in whom the peace of God does not reign. We know that He is in control of all things, which (even if sourced by the evil one) will serve His purpose.
I was told this week, by another club leader, about their opportunity to share the gospel with a friend from law-school, because of his reasoned, peace-filled response to the situation.
As with all Godly truth applied in our lives, we are given a bright-line for measurement. In this application, we will not act in fear, but with a sound mind. Following the California Department of Public Health (“CDPH”) covering “gatherings,” the club meeting for March 16 is canceled.
Please use this time to coach your family in speech and debate, as well as to have direct conversation with them about the Godly view in tumultuous times. God is the author of logic, reason and wisdom. He has promised to give it [happily] and liberally to those that ask (James 1:5).
Ex Nihilo club leadership is here to help in any way. Please call on us to help.
