Early Access gifted to Ex Nihilo for upcoming ICC tournament

Ex Nihilo friends,

A note of thanks and invitation is attached from friend, long-time Stoa member, and Inland Club Challenge (Apr 19-22, Highland, CA) tournament director Wayne Johnson.

Wayne served as Tab Director for our own Point Loma Classic tournament this year. He is gifting our club families early access to ICC which opens tomorrow (a few days ahead of their regular registration opening on Monday, saving our families the stress of rushed registration and potential waitlisting).

Letter with detailed instructions:

Steve [and Ex Nihilo families],

The Inland Club Challenge is approaching and judge registration is now open on the website.  Student registration will open on Monday, February 27th at 9:00 a.m.  Here is the tournament link: https://icc12.homeschooldebate.net/

I would like to offer all the Ex Nihilo families the opportunity to register early.  Please feel free to forward this e-mail to your entire club.

I remain truly thankful for the great blessing that the Ex Nihilo families are in Stoa.  The Point Loma Classic was a wonderful experience for me.  May God continue to bless all your efforts raising Godly sons and daughters.

Here are the steps for obtaining the early access code.  We cannot run a tournament without faithful parent judges.  For this reason, the registration steps on the website (https://icc12.homeschooldebate.net/fees-and-deadlines) provide as follows:

           2) Register As A Parent Judge.

Second, please review the Parent Judging Responsibilities on the website and make sure you are comfortable with them. After reviewing them, please then register as a judge for ICC and select nine rounds to judge (three or four on Thursday, three or four on Friday and two on Saturday). If you have a student competing in parli on Wednesday, please sign up to judge three additional rounds on Wednesday. Click on the Judge Registration tab above.

           3) Send Us An E-Mail Confirming Judging.

Next, after taking the steps above, please send an e-mail to our registrar at RegistrarforICC@gmail.com and let us know that (1) you are the parent who will attend the tournament with your sons or daughters, (2) you have reviewed the parent judging responsibilities and agree with them and (3) you have signed up to judge every other round for a total of 9-12 rounds to judge. Please cover these three ideas in the e-mail message.

To make this as easy as possible for you, here is a proposed e-mail you can send to our hard working registrar:

“I am the parent who will attend ICC with my sons or daughters. I have reviewed the parent judging responsibilities on the ICC website and I will judge the needed rounds. I have signed up to judge every other round for a total of 9-12 rounds.”

Each registration for the tournament is not complete until a parent (1) registers to judge 9-12 rounds and (2) sends the confirming e-mail message described above.

Once I receive the e-mail from each family, I will respond and send an early access code.

The early registration code will allow families to register starting this Friday (February 24th) at 8:00 a.m. and it will remain available until registration opens to the public on Monday, February 27th at 9:00 a.m.

           God bless you!

-Wayne
