Mandatory Parent Meeting:

Dear Ex Nihilo Families,

As many of you know, Point Loma Nazarene University decided to close its campus to all off campus groups for the 2021 school year, so we will not be able to hold a tournament there. The Ex Nihilo Board of Directors decided to explore other locations for opportunities to hold an indoor and in person tournament. Many thanks to Ben Hodge and Steve Hosmer for all of their efforts in the search for a new location.  The Ex Nihilo Board of Directors is excited to announce that our club will be putting on the:

2021 San Diego Classic

  • To be held at San Diego Christian College in Santee, CA.
  • Save the dates for January 6th through January 9th, 2021

Monday, November 9th – mandatory parent meeting

In addition to being able to provide our students with top notch competition in a tournament that is in our own backyard, our club, as the host of this tournament gets to keep the profit from the tournament. We use these funds to help pay for club expenses, to offset the cost of the national tournament, NITOC, for our students who are able and qualified to attend, and to send our parents to the Stoa training conferences for club leaders.

Needless to say, there is a lot of work involved in putting on a tournament and we will need every parent to help out. To that end, we will be holding a mandatory parent meeting on Monday, November 9th, during break time, at 7:30 pm. Child care will be available. We will meet in the sanctuary to go over the details of what is needed to host a tournament. We will introduce our committee chairpersons. Every parent needs to sign up on at least one committee to help. While putting on a tournament is a lot of work, we have a wonderful time getting to know other families in our club and other clubs around the state. This is also an excellent opportunity to model leadership to our children.

Details about each committee’s responsibilities will be sent out by the end of this week. In the meantime, we ask that you pray for our plans, for the tournament, and that God would be glorified.

Many blessings,
Ex Nihilo BOD
